10-4-09 Sunday (Lazy Turkey)

I subscribe to an RV hints/tips type blog.  Today’s entry was about costly damage from collision accidents.  Nah, they don’t mention awning wrestling.  They’re talking about trying to occupy the same space as another object.  What was funny about this entry is that they included a video which I’ve seen dozens of times yet it still makes me cringe.  No, it’s not gross.  It will either make you laugh or gasp.

Please, by all means, enjoy someone else’s misery!

Oooops, I hate when that happens.

I’ll admit to something similar to this.  Years ago I worked for a Dodge dealership as a Service Writer.  I emptied the night drop envelopes, hopped into a box truck and pulled it into the service drive.  Unfortunately the roof sloped and I drove to the shortest end.  WHAM!  The top of the truck (aluminum) hit the service drive roof (steel) and the steel won.  Luckily I was going slow.  The repairs turned out to be minimal and I wasn’t charged for the repair.

In other unrelated tidbits, such as the general feel of the blog, a radio commercial came on and advertised whatever product stating to “hurry now, because when they’re gone, they’re gone.”  Really?  That’s like saying when you’re dead, you’re dead.  What a shocker.

imageWe’ve had an extremely lazy day today.  Well, I did laundry and cleaned here and there.  Oh and I made turkey tenderloins for dinner and cleaned up afterwards.  Maybe I could go as far as to say: Some of us did nothing.

  2. We were at a reststop on one of our trips, and saw a beautiful Dynamax mo-ho. The roof top air conditioners were destroyed. Low bridge was all they said. OUCH!
    That had to be expensive.

  3. Yeah, why hurry if they're gone?

Fortunately, I've never done anything stupid like in your video, or as you admitted about yourself. No. I'm the perfect driver at gas stations. But, once in my life (so far), I was the idiot who pulled away from the pump with the nozzle still in my tank. Did you know the hoses have a breakaway feature because that does happen so often?!!

  4. MOM L: I knew about the breakaway hose and my aunt did the same. People honked at her as she drove down the road! LOL.

Why hurry if they're gone? Exactly, but how do you know when their gone? Well, I guess they're gone, when they're gone? Oy.
