Today was mom’s bad day (as she calls it). She was in bed for a better part of the day. In the meantime, Jim and I went to breakfast at Ryan’s, then Camping World for a sewer hose, and then on to a foam store to get replacement foam for our dinette cushions.
Originally we were just going to recover the cushions. With a decent foam price, that grew to replacing the bottom cushions with firm foam 4” thick. Once there Jim tested out the 5” foam and so we upgraded. Then on to replacing the back cushions. The project sure grew. The worst part was that the place was a dump. The best part? The cool machinery that cuts the foam like “butta”. Once home I concentrated on removing the 56,875.3 staples that attached the old fabric. The .3 was the broken staple that was difficult to remove. I’m thinking about having the old staples smelted into a sword or something. Using 56,876 staples, Jim attached the new fabric to the foam and board creating our beautiful new dinette cushions. I’ll have photos once we reinstall it.
I spotted this on our backyard fence yesterday. Is it a hawk? I love that I spotted a rabbit the other day. Jim saw deer along side the backyard fence a few days ago.
For dinner a made a turkey meatloaf with mashed potatoes, gravy and corn. It came out great! Tasty!
After dinner we settled into a movie. The Men Who Stare At Goats. This may have been the worst movie – ever. What a flippin’ waste of a dollar (from Redbox). It stars several well known actors which apparently means shit. My mom gave up after 10 minutes and went to bed. I think she was wise. For Jim and I, it was more like a train wreck. We kept hoping it would get better. Not so much.
I prepare salad meat. Jim says something rather amusing. Temperatures are in the low 100’s. We went shopping while the RV cooled down from the mid 80’s it was. Click here to read all about it. |
Oh! Good to know about Goats. They really tried to make it look like a funny movie... good to know it's one to avoid!
ReplyDeleteThe foam story is very funny to me. My company makes foam- the business across the street from my office does, anyway. It's the foam we use to make earplugs and such.
Thanks for the tip on the Goat movie. I almost put it in my NetFlix queue.
ReplyDeleteYeah, that's a hawk.
Turkey meatloaf is awesome.
Hi to mom.
The foam cushies look awesome.
What have I forgotten? Oh yeah...
I love you. Even though I'm odd, and maybe because of it.
Can't wait to see the finished chairs - just don't staple yourself! I agree with men and goats - I waited quite a while for it to be available through Netflix, then watched only a few minutes of it and really regretted wasting the shipping days on it when I could have picked something else. Oh, well - at least I didn't spend money at the theater!!!

We thought the goat movie was pretty bad too. Glad to know we weren't the only ones. The part about the LSD in the water was funny.
