Mom had a bad day today. She was in and out of bed a lot – mostly in. I ran out and had Dasher’s nails cut and then back home. She was in bed. Back out to do some grocery shopping at Walmart. Came home and she was in bed. Back out to a supermarket for things that Walmart didn’t have. Ya know, weird shit like loose potatoes. They were out of them. I’m still in shock. Anyways, I went to Dollar Tree for some stuff.
I bought these the other day and love ‘em. $1 for 60. I bought 4 more bags today (That’s $4). While at Dollar Tree:
I really, really wanted to say something to her. I think someone needs to. I was on line behind her for eternity. I posted these photos on Facebook and have learned that this is called “muffin top”. Ewwwww. I was so close to saying something. No wonder some people carry a flask with them. I could have taken a shot of liquid courage. So close…
I got home, mom was in bed. There were signs that she had been in the kitchen through out the day. I made Stromboli using Pillsbury Big & Buttery Crescent Rolls rather than the French Bread. It was much easier to roll out using this but I think the butter flavor was a little too much. Next time I’ll try regular. There won’t be a next time real soon though as the diet is going to start soon.
I must say, I made a great dinner: steaks, baked potatoes, baked onions, fresh broccoli and then we settled into a movie. This time “Legion”. It had such potential. FAIL.
Tomorrow is mom’s last full day here so hopefully she’s fully recovered.

Mom L: Well, I can't post the same day since the day isn't over yet. I try to publish it the following day or 2 after depending on my very busy housewife life. Ya know, scrub a toilet, play a video game, waste endless hours on Facebook, mop a floor. Oye.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to see you have reached another cultural landmark in the knowing of "Muffin Tops." I should have told you before when you questioned its definition on my blog, but I forgot.
ReplyDeleteDo you have any idea how good it feels to be nearing 52 and NOT have a muffin top? Especially when most of the 14 year old girls around me do.
That's all the motivation I need for working out and watching what I eat.
Hope Joanne is feeling better soon. Fibromyalgia must suck bigtime. Poor sweet gal. Giver her a tender hug for me.
