5-9-10 Sunday (Bloomers)

It was a great Mother’s Day!  Jim, my mom, and I has reservations at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse.  They offered a Mother’s Day brunch.  They had a fillet and prime rib carving station, custom made egg dishes, desserts, etc.  It was all done very well.  All 3 of us enjoyed the meal.

The last Uptown outing we had, Jim spotted a huge Magnolia tree.  He thought that would be a nice place to visit hoping we’d see some big, beautiful blooms.  It worked out great.  Blooms were all over.  The name of the park?  Gandhi Park.  Interesting.  It even has a website of it’s own.  More interesting.

Once we got home, my mom napped.  Then Jim napped.  While mom was napping, Jim and I went to the RV and installed the new cushions.  On the way, Jim stopped to talk to a roadside car washer with an on-trailer-water-tank.  Jim had this 2 man crew come to the RV for $50 and wash it.  Yay!  Clean beast.

  1. What a lovely brunch! I hadn't even thought to check out our local Ruth's Chris but I'd bet they did the same thing. I haven't eaten there is years but it is mighty tasty!

The sacreligious pic is so wrong and so funny!

  3. Oh happy happy day. You mom looks like she really enjoyed herself! You're a good son, Garret.

We LOVE Ruth's Chris. But it's a "special occasion" place for us because it's so pricy. Always worth the $$$ tho. Last time I went, Kristen was here from NY and we treated her. We brought our leftovers home and when I ate mine the next day there was a WIRE (!!!) in the meat. It must have been from a temperature gauge or something - but I could have swallowed it and sued RC and been filthy rich. I thought about calling them and reporting the incident... figured it would be good for a freebie of some sort, but I didn't go through with it. People like that are transparent and greedy and cheap. Okay... so I really am transparent and greedy and cheap, but they don't have to know - do they?

Awesome photo of Jim getting decapitated by Ghandi. In a peaceful kind of way, of course.

And the magnolia photos are really lovely. I don't think they are fragrant blooms tho. But hey... if it makes you happy to stuff your nose inside, who am I to stop you.

Miss you guys. Hi to momma.

  4. @Liz: I Googled something like "Mother's Day events Charlotte". A result was opentable.com or something like that which listed different events around town. I love the internet.

@Mom L: If my Mom could do it, she probably would have.

@Alix: Ruth's Chris is way expensive. We've been one time previously when Jim's prior company paid for it!

Maybe it was an underwire? Well, it was under the meat, right?

I never stuck my nose in the blooms so I'm not sure. The other 2 did but we never spoke of it.
