3-16-10 Tuesday (Getting A Handle On Things)

I got an email this morning.  It made my day.  A woman from London wanted to thank ME for the blog and offer some nutrition suggestions.  Sometimes, people just “lurk”.  Lurking is the formal name for someone who doesn’t subscribe (aka a follower) but rather reads without being counted.  It was so nice to hear from her!  Naturally I responded to her email and even informed her I had been to London years ago for a day and a half.  After I sent the email, it made me wonder why I felt the need to say I’ve been to London.  “Hey, I like English Muffins.”  I’m kidding on that part but serious about the rest.  Maybe it’s just a way to form some sort of bond or show some commonality between us?  Whatever the reason, thank you, Julia, for brightening my day!

DIH - Calendar We took a 2 hour cruise.  We avoided the 3 hour tour because we’re both not fond of coconuts.  We cruised around the San Diego bay seeing sea lions.  We shopped at tourist-trap-ville.  We ate at Fuddruckers and then toured the Gaslamp district.  Read/see it all here.

I spent a lot of time today spray painting the RV handles.  I’ve done about 1/2 of them.  The other 1/2 are still in the RV; I’ll swap those out and paint the others next.

Off to the gym.  Chest/back and cardio.  Ugh.

  1. Enjoyed our chat yesterday - especially when we talked about the art of conversation. It's so true that as humans we are always kind of waiting for audio cues to launch into discussions about ourselves. Most of the time it's an auto response mechanism but occasionally it's more an opportunity to show off and one-up. I never do that of course, because - as you know - I am a conversation artist. LOL.

Next time I want to get mentioned on your blog, I'll email you instead.

PS: When I looked at your photo with John I almost didn't recognize you. Gosh... Garret with hair is like an oxy moron. You look good though. Gotta give credit where credit is due.
