5-28-09 Thursday (Anniversary Terminated)

A few days ago I posted a video on my Facebook page.  I wasn’t sure if it was too rude, too sexual or too offensive in some way.  Between the disappointing Prop 8 ruling and the fact that today Jim and I are celebrating 10 years together, I came to the conclusion that this is our blog, and while I don’t want to alienate or offend anyone, screw it, or this case “Fuck You”.  This song was used in a video against homophobes.  I love the song, I love the video.  It does say “Fuck You” several times in the song so if you are easily offended, don’t play the video.  The link above does take you to Wikipedia to provide basic interesting facts about the songs origins and what it was originally created for. Those who know Jim and I personally, know how anti-politically involved we are.  Sometimes it’s laziness, sometimes it’s disinterest and sometimes it’s just plain wrong of us.  I want to thank those, such as Ted & Steve and Scott who are in San Diego for protesting the Prop 8 ruling.  These 3 guys are the types that cause change.  They don’t just wait for it, pray for it or hope for it.  They make it happen.

It’s hard to get that tune out of your head, isn’t it?

My head is peeling.  I hate when that happens.  My beautiful tan is coming off in sheets.  There’s a part of me that likes peeling it off.  It’s gross, but c’mon you’ve been there too.  It becomes fun in a sick kinda demented way.  Hmmmm, perhaps a good time for a subject change.

In preparation for tomorrow’s trip, Jim washed the windshield which then led to washing the entire RV exterior.  I decided to vacuum and mop.  I like the Swiffer Wetjet but that DAMN scented cleaner makes my propane leak detector go off and I can’t get it to reset for like an hour!  That means no stove fuel (not that I need it right now) and no water heater.  Well, the water heater is heating on electric since propane is cut off by the sensor.  Ugh.

After mopping, I then got more unlazy and  cleaned out the kitty litter/food area.  I’m not sure if I ever explained how that works or if I’ve included photos of our set up so here it is:

Above: Cats enter through cat door in stairs (Jim created this before we hit the road) based on an idea from HGTV.

 Kitty Area

1- Cats enter in around the corner through the cat flap.  2- Screen room and patio rug supplies.  3- More screen room and patio rug supplies.   4- Extra cat litter.  5- Extra dry cat food.  6- A lid to an under bed storage tote is used as a catch all pan.  7- Litter box… ick.   8- Dry and canned cat foods are in this tray.  9- This light stays on all the time.  10- Power converter takes 110 and changes to 12 volt for lights and stuff.  This is what Jim replaced while in San Diego.  11- Carbon monoxide detector - just in case.

For our anniversary celebration, we started the evening with a movie.  We saw Terminator Salvation, and we both enjoyed it.  We then went to dinner at P.F. Chang’s.   I had never eaten there.  It was all yummy.  We had an internet coupon for free Lettuce Wraps which we ordered, along with steamed dumplings.  For our main course we shared Sesame Chicken and Double Pan Fried Noodles with shrimp, chicken and beef.  We opted for the brown rice over the white.  It was all very tasty.  Dessert we took a slice of Great Wall of Chocolate to eat at home.  Like the 20 minute ride gave me extra room to eat more.  Oye!

  1. Happy Anniversary!!!

As before, I wish I had a plane available... because I'd love nothing more than to pick up a protest sign and be out there in CA.

That whole kitty set up is GENIOUS. I'd never think of such a thing...

  2. I'm glad you had a good anniversary celebration! I've been to PF Chang's twice and enjoyed it both times. I can't remember what I ordered. It's been a while since I was there.

    The cat flap is genius!

Going to watch the video now.

I'm glad you appreciate the little that we do in matters like civil rights but we are just a speck in the crowd of real activists for our cause. You give us too much credit. but thanks.

    Happy Anniversary.

  5. Yes! P.F. Changs rules! Did you try the fried green beans? OMG - they are incredibly delicious... deep fried in a light spicy tempura style batter with an accompanying spicy dipping sauce! Tried them at Christmas. Probably won't be having them again for a while, but I might make an exception when you come to Jax. :)

Happy Anniversary. Ten years is huge!

    Love ya!
