green-acres We moved the RV today.  We’re now at Green Acres RV park.  Makes ya want to hum the Green Acres theme, doesn’t it?  Notice the swine, she’s holding.  Some of the park is OK, but most of it is icky.  Some of the RV’s have been modified and made tacky.  A/C units hanging out of the windows, wood add-ons, etc.  Luckily we won’t be here that long.  I looks as though management has a problem in telling people to clean up their sites.  As a result “things” are stored outside.  The RV next door has a chest freezer, baby stroller, 4 trash bags, 5 Rubbermaid totes, a large grill, laundry products, 2 pieces of luggage and a broom.  I think the lady next door has 2 kids and by the looks of it, we witnessed a Child Services representative doing a home inspection.  Poor lady.

Above: Look, you can see her selecting dinner for tonight.  Watch your head!

Broken Internet altell-broadband-card We’ve had no solid internet connection since our arrival to Arizona.  The new RV park doesn’t offer Wi-Fi so we had to resort to our own connection.  We could barely stay connected.  We called Alltel support.  The lady said we needed an update to our card/modem because she could see that the modem is trying to connect to Sprint towers and constantly bounce around.  She told us to go to an Alltel store.  We did.  They said they couldn’t update the card.  We call support again.  They say they don’t know why the lady said that was needed.  Run-around, run-around, 5 people at Customer Service Support later.  Jim says, “We have insurance on the modem, it doesn’t work  right now, replace it.”  They authorized that.  It was a complete disaster.  We were there a very long time.  The employee would barely do anything without his manager, who was off.  This was a corporate store, with unpowered employees.  Sad.  Long story short, it works now.  Yay!

For Sale We went out to look at some houses that are for sale.  We can look at the square footage, and see many photos but we wanted to see the neighborhoods.  $150,000 can buy us what and where?    We’re just checking this sort of stuff out now so we’ll know if Phoenix/Tempe/Mesa can be a possibility for relocation.  Another target state will be Texas.

cornedbeefLast week when we went to Sam’s we tasted corned beef that a woman was demoing.  It was divine.  We bought one.  I’ve never made one but decided we’d throw one into a crock pot and see what happens.  I added red potatoes, cabbage, carrots, the accompanying seasoning and beef broth.  We came home to the circuit breaker in the coach being tripped.  I estimate the  power was off for an hour.  The crock pot was still boiling hot but that made a difference on how well it cooked.  All of it was still more firm than it should be.  We ate it anyways, and let the remainder in the pot to finish cooking longer.  Overall, I’d make this again, it will just cook longer.

  1. I had a fantastic roast in my crock pot one day... left for work... came home... it had cooked a couple of hours and then the power flashed and my meal had sat there for hours and hours and was ruined. Suckage.

  2. Yeah, they should make them power back up when the power goes off like they do on other stuff. This wasn't the first time for us either. We've lost a meal completely.

  3. I haven't used my crockpot for years. Maybe I'll dig it out, dust it off and bring it to John's to use.

  4. Ug! That "Customer Service/Support" situation is a familiar one and gives me ulcers! Glad you got your modem problem solved.

And now I'm craving corned beef! Thanks for that (not).
