5-27-09 Wednesday (Oink)

image Let me tell you what an F’in’ bunch of pigs we are today. I’m gonna blame Jim for making the suggestions but take responsibility for agreeing and then eating. I had a bagel before leaving the RV today. BUT there’s more.

image We went to Las Cruces, NM to check it out. We actually went to the Old Mesilla Village. It was a small shopping district and pretty boring. We grabbed a bunch of touristy brochures, read a little about Billy the Kid being jailed there, and then Jim spotted a chocolate store. We went in, made our ridiculous purchases, sat in the park and ate them, whilst Jim read about things to do. Bored. We saw something about a historic plaza blah blah and so we went there next. Boring.

image On the way home Jim wanted a beverage. We stopped at a Whataburger and had a beverage… oh and a single burger (no fries) too. It was delicious. That noise? The sound of the button on my shorts, don’t worry, apparently I don’t.

image We came home, walked the dog (exercise, right?) and then decided to go find a Harbor Freight Tools. They sell a good quality rubber glove at an excellent price for handling sewer line hookups. It was a half hour drive to get there to save a few dollars. It was more like entertainment.

image Dinner time approached and Jim had a bunch of coupons available. Screw cooking tonight… let’s eat out. We agreed on Fuddruckers. We’ll give it another shot. 1/3 pound burger, we shared fries but of course ate them with nacho cheese sauce. This was the second time having Fuddruckers and once again I wasn’t impressed unless you like flavorless meat.

image On the way home, we spotted a Cold Stone Creamery. Jim asks if we should just be bad. I agreed that we should just make it a fat day at this point. We ate some more. And for 20 cents more, we could upgrade from a Like It to a Love It size… and that we did.

image Tomorrow, we are leaving ahead of schedule. There’s nothing that interests us around here. In the 5,000 or so brochures we’ve picked up, we’ve decided the city of Alamogordo, NM has a lot of cool nature to see. Off we go!

OK, so after I published this entry we decided to stay 1 more day. It's our 10th anniversary tomorrow so we're going to dinner and a movie.

  1. Are you staying in Las Cruces? Hacienda RV park is one of my favorites.

  2. Wow. And you give me grief about a steak sandwich.

By the way, I had salad last night. And my pants are getting big on me. They're beginning to fall down.

  5. Oh my, my, my, my, my... tsk, tsk, tsk...

I can't even remember what ice cream (or any of those things) tastes like.

Glad you are carrying the torch for those of us whose lips are currently sewn shut.

PS: Your rubber glove comment scared me until I got to the end. Oh, and Mona is going to be in Jax third week in July. Will you and Jim perchance be here then?

  7. We probably won't be to Florida by then. Maybe, maybe not but most likely on the not side.
