5-10-09 Sunday (A Hijacking)

A Happy Mother’s Day to all!  Even if you’re not a mother, what the heck.

Right now it’s 95 with a projected high of 100 degrees.  Once again I’m glad it’s a dry heat but I keep hearing that Dallas is humid.  If it’s 100 and humid, I’m not sure we can make it in this one-at-a-time-air-conditioning-box-on-wheels.  The inside temperature is 79 degrees and very comfortable but I suspect if there was humidity on top of that, I’d be a sweaty mess.

For lunch, I made a delicious salad.  Lettuce (of course), baked chicken, corn, black beans, broccoli, roma tomatoes, low fat feta (tablespoon per salad).  It was all yummy.  I added some extra chicken while hoping I’ll feel full longer.

tin-canAlixWe’ve done nothing today.  Late this afternoon, I did  receive a call from Alix from Casa Hice.  Yes, a phone call.  And how do I rank (shaking my booty in your general direction)?   She decided to call me as she was taking a leisurely stroll around her neighborhood.  Again, how cool is that?  Remember Alix, call me whenever you want (keeping in mind the time difference of course).  We plan to stop off and see her on our way to Fort Myers.  She loves me, she really loves me.  Sigh.  By the way, the photo on the right is of Alix.  Yep, I hijacked it right off her blog.

We finished off the day with a Redbox rental of The Day The Earth Stood Still.  I was so looking forward to seeing this movie at an IMAX back in December.  We never got the chance.  I was somewhat disappointed with this movie.  It was OK, but also too predictable.  Oh well, if was definitely better than last night’s Legend flick.

    4) And, a compliment.

You just gave me the best Mother's Day gifts ever. Well... besides the Cuisinart rotisserie I mean.

  2. John saw The Day The Earth Stood Still. He said it was no match for the original.

  3. According to my nerdy husband, The Day The Earth Stood Still is best in the original classic version. He had zero expectations for the new one when it came out so he wasn't too disappointed.

I am TOTALLY jealous that you got chatted up by Alix!! She wins!!
