Excitingly enough, I was able to make a trip to Big Lots today for a garden sprayer. I needed one to spray some weed killer around and under the hot tub. I saw a bunch of things on my list to buy for the RV but I resisted. On the list are things I’d like to have at the RV and at home so that when vacations or weekend getaways come up, we need only pack some clothes and some food. I’d like to have condiments in the fridge. Salt/pepper shakers. Coffee. That kind of stuff. When we moved into this house, I took the good stuff from the RV (pots, pans, etc) and swapped it with poor quality stuff. I figured the better stuff needs to be wherever we are most of the time. Make sense?
Trust me, I’m always willing to stimulate the economy but we’re getting a wee bit nervous to spend money right now. My unemployment benefits run out next week and the Senate hasn’t approved an extension yet. They took off leaving thousands with expired benefits.
It’s not even just about unemployment. It’s about schedules. Jim and I have always had similar working hours. The motorhome is slated to be our weekend getaway – our vacation home. If I work nights and/or weekends the plan is shot to shit.
A year ago, we were in Barstow, California. Our campground was at a regional park attached to Calico Ghost town. Fun stuff. We spotted a Bimbo truck. Intrigued? Visit last year’s entry. |
I hope you either get a job soon or get your extension.
ReplyDeleteGood idea on swapping out the better stuff and leaving the other stuff in the camper.
