4-18-10 Sunday (The News)

Today will conclude our exciting RV spring cleaning event.  Jim fiddle-faddled with the RV step control module/motor for what seemed like all day.  I think he was just laying under the RV napping while I continued cleaning and organizing the inside.  He was having a hard time getting everything reassembled and then it wouldn’t work which turned out to be a fuse.

For lunch we went to Ryan’s Buffet.  Is anyone tired of hearing about that place?  It’s just so perfect for me.  Steak, roasted chicken and salad.  Yummy!  Yet again, the steak was tender and flavorful, while the chicken was moist.

I received news that my mom is coming from Florida for a visit.  She’ll be flying in this Saturday the 24th.  My aunt gave my mom an unused ticket for Southwest Airlines.  The closest airport they fly to is the Raleigh-Durham airport which 2.5 hours away from me.  It’s not really a big deal since I’m excited to see my Mom.  She’ll stay here 3 weeks.  Some of that time will be visiting relatives in Myrtle Beach.

DIH - Fun Mirror Last year we said goodbye to Vegas as we travelled to the Grand Canyon!  Later, I was very sick but on the bright side, I got to see elk wander the campground.

  3. @Charleen: I'm still holding at 4 pounds even with going to the gym. I'm not sure what's wrong. Maybe my new cholesterol meds have something to do with it. I'm not sure.

  4. Are you journaling your food? Sometimes that can help. Are you getting enough fat? I recall my own experience- sometimes you had to boost your fats to push the weight loss. You should do the food photo thing I did last week... it's actually kinda fun!

  5. Good idea Liz. I was journaling my food and I saw that cooked broc was high in carbs so I ditched my evening veggies and replaced it with a side salad which is far lower in carbs. I haven't journaled since. I noticed that my new cholesterol medicine, Niaspan, has a warning on the bottle "if you have diabetes, this medicine may change your blood or urine sugar. If this occurs, call your doctor". Just in case, I Googled Niaspan + Atkins but found no reported correlation.
