Schedules are off a little today since Jim has a dentist appointment this morning, then goes in late to work, and in turn will work late to make up for the time. My newest wake up time is 7 am. I can’t seem to sleep past that. Although it’s been happening for a couple of weeks, it doesn’t seem related to the time change. I think my body simply picked a new time. I guess I need to change the coffee brew time.
Shortly after Jim left for his dentist’s appointment, I headed to Snider Tire to get some explanations. I asked for Gary but he was back to doing his regular job. Huh? Apparently Gary is the Sales Development Manager and not a service advisor. A guy who turned out to be the service manager asked if he could help. I explained what had happened yesterday with the steering wheel and that I was looking for specs on the 3rd axle. He summons the tech. The tech says he can’t adjust the steering wheel as it would require some special tool to remove it. Huh? When I called Gary yesterday he said it was corrected. FAIL! I asked about alignment specs for the tag axle. The tech says it’s not adjustable. I’m not sure if he speaks the truth since that conflicts with a friend’s opinion so I won’t argue that. What I will argue is that when dealing with alignments, even when it’s not adjustable you still check to see if it’s within specs. It could be out of specs due to a bent axle, or even a bent frame. The tech said he never even hooked up the sensors to it. FAIL! To me, the alignment wasn’t done correctly. I turned to the service manager and said, “I’d like my money back”. He apologized, happily refunded it and said that Gary was out of his element.
Meanwhile Jim’s dental appointment didn’t go that well. They claim he has 2 cavities and needs the deep clean that I had done. They showed him proof of this or that but he’s still leery. As I’ve said in previous posts, he’s had perfect teeth all his life and the last dentist (5 or more years ago) to tell him he had cavities was wrong as discovered by a different dentist when Jim got a second opinion. Run on huh? Yeah. Jim hasn’t decided what to do just yet.
I had lunch with Rick today at Applebee’s. We both had salads. Yummy. Afterwards we walked around a huge store called Garden Ridge. I had been to another location weeks ago when I got a snapshot of the woman with the walker crawling under bins for clearance Christmas crap. This location was huge. For those of you familiar with Old Time Pottery, it was like that except on steroids.
Later in the evening, Jim and I ate dinner, picked up the RV and returned it to it’s spot back at the storage facility.
Travelling can’t be fun 100% of the time. Today we had the Jeep oil changed and went to a pawn shop. We did get to view a large car collection. We made new friends with the owner’s of a big ominous motorhome that pulled in next to us. Off to the buffet then to Paris’ Eiffel Tower. We toured the Flamingo hotel. What a view from the motorhome dinette. Check it out. |
You go, Garryy! I love your sauciness and your mechanical knowledge. All I can say at the car shop is "um, ok..." or "it sounded like...".

Send Jim down to Bob The Dentist. He'll be honest and probably buy him an Amaretto Sour.
