4-2-10 Friday (Death Of A Rabbit)

Jim is on a low calorie diet, Jodi is on a no meat Good Friday thingy, and I’m on Atkins. We are the most complicated 3 there ever was. I selected the Original Pancake House for breakfast. I can have a bacon and cheese omelet, and the other 2 can – well, it’s not about them really. We all had a great breakfast.

Jodi needed some more Easter basket supplies. She’s got two God kids and another child to buy for. I suggested a reusable beach bucket of sorts rather than a typical basket. We found cute stuff at Walmart.

For today’s entertainment, event coordinator Jim came up with a visit to the Stowe Botanical Garden. It was hot walking around but the flowers all around were beautiful and made it worth it. I took a lot of photos as you’ll see by the slideshow. We enjoyed the surroundings.

On the Easter supply list, a few items were still needed. Replacement bunnies for those Jodi forgot about in the car (a bad thing) and basket bags. The poor melted bunnies looked fine in the box until Jodi lifted it up and the rabbit just collapsed – heat exhaustion I suppose. 80something weather with the sun in full bake mode didn’t help.

We stopped at Bloom for some lunch supplies along with replacement bunnies. Dollar Tree had the basket bags. After lunch Jodi and I worked on baskets. They came out so cute.

For dinner, we went into Uptown Charlotte to Presto Bar & Grill. I was good. Jim and I will definitely go again sometime. The weather was perfect to we walked around Uptown and to EpiCentre which is an outdoor mall o’ entertainment for adults. Bars, clubs, restaurants, movie theater and uppity bistros are what it’s all about. Jim and I have been there several times on our own and with Carl & Tim.

DIH - Columbia Last year we took 2 tours of the very strange Winchester House. I included the story about the house and a nifty slide show of our day. Click here and take a looksy.

I spent a long time working on a slideshow with music and all.  I uploaded it a million times to youtube.com with errors.  If only I had noticed that my 12 minute video exceeded the 10 minutes youtube.com permitted.  If only the error would have told me what the problem was.  I’m not doing another slideshow.  I’ve spent an hour downloading and trying video splitting programs that didn’t work out.  Screw it.  If you want to see the photos, most of them are below:

  1. Those baskets are fantastic!!! Well done!

I had breakfast at Original Pancake House on Saturday with a friend. I hadn't been there in ages and totally thought of you when I was there. I splurged and had the banana crepes- yummy!

  2. Oh- and the melted bunnies are really creepy and a great deterrent if the desire to eat a chocolate bunny ever strikes. They look... plastic-y!

  3. I love the photo of you two goons towering over sweet demure ladylike Jodi.

She looks like Princess Diana and you look like castle gargoyles.

Just kidding, you look like princesses too.
