4-20-10 Tuesday (Cover Stories)

We have another place in mind to do the alignment on the RV.  This is a Goodyear Wingfoot truck center.  I stopped in earlier today to chat with the service manager and to make sure my requests could be fulfilled.  I gave him a key along with a written copy of my requests and told him I’d have the RV parked in front of his shop the night before.

image I spent the rest of the day going all over town.   I will be painting some more RV hardware and needed silver screws to replace the antique brass ones so off to Ace Hardware I went.  I stopped into a Big Lots to return some crappy pillow cases and buy some more crappy stuff instead.  Home Depot to buy a new 60” grill cover since the old one (from Walmart) was falling apart within 2 months.  This time I purchased the deluxe version which had a less plastic feeling material.  I got home, put on the new grill cover and it seemed a little big.  I remembered seeing a 55” one so I decided to return it.  I returned the cover, went to the aisle and realized that the 55” is a really cheap plastic one like the Walmart product so I repurchased the 60” one.  $9 Walmart vs. $25 Home Depot.  Worth it I hope.  I then went to Walmart to return the torn up crappy cover.

Jim and I skipped the gym tonight to get the RV out of storage and bring it to the Goodyear dealer.

On the way home, we discussed my plans to take my mom over to Myrtle Beach to see some family.  Jim suggested that I drive the RV only (no Jeep in tow) to Myrtle Beach with my mom, get a campground site, and he’d drive up after work later that same night (A Friday).  Jim and I would stay the weekend and take in the sights.  We’d then hook the Jeep up to the RV and go home on Sunday, leaving my Mom to continue visiting for a week.

  1. Good luck with the new mechanic.

Goodyear, huh? Bring your wallet... they like to make their bill as big as humanly possible.

When are you going to Myrtle Beach? I've never been there.

  3. We (Sea Spray) used Goodyear-Wingfoot truck center here in Fort Myers for years. Very good service and products and yes very expensive. I see you still have not learned that everything from Walmart is CRAP!!! I'm happy to hear that your Mom is coming for a visit. Remember that sometimes it's just being there with you and not the having something to do that make people happy. Oh and one more thing.... WTF is wrong with you buying pillow cases at Big Lots, PLEASE!

Today I changed the time off I have to take for PT from furlough hours to paid personal time because I need a paycheck soon that's close to normal. Oy vay. Anyway, Love you guys!!!!

  6. I know it Laurie. I've said that many a time. Like my pay fluctuates or something. Unless you're on commission, it pretty much stays the same.

  8. Ummmm, Alix, check your mailbox again. And again. And yet again.

We're probably not RVing to Myrtle Beach afterall. A $300 weekend and there isn't really much to do there. Jim and I don't do the beach.
