Road trip! Yep, Carl, Tim, Jim and I had been planning to take a Blue Ridge Parkway drive. We started our journey with breakfast at a local restaurant, Maria’s.
I’m just gonna warn you, I just don’t have the time for fancy schmancy slide shows but I want to share all the photos with you. There’s gonna be a lot.

Above: Tim is a smoker. (we love him anyway).
So we finished up breakfast. Oh, my pancakes were lame. Anyway, we hit the road. (that’s what you do during a roadtrip).
We detoured our plans a little. We were heading to Little Switzerland where we’d have lunch at the Switzerland Inn however we’d arrive much too early especially after having had breakfast recently. We decided to go to Asheville.
That was our short visit to Asheville. I referred to it as a sampler trip. By the way, it was cold…. brrrrrrrr.
Next off to Little Switzerland. The following photos are all from that area:
Above/Below: Dasher wasn’t her to take our photo so we found a squirrel who was available.
Above/Below: On top of the world.
Above/Below: Tim wasn’t impressed with the French Onion Soup.
Above: Jim doesn’t like waste.
Above: Tim smokes and wonders if his trailer could make it up here.
Beauti-mus. Now on to Linville Falls.
Above: First a stop for a nice view.
Above: There’s several trails to walk to get to the various view points. The journey is worth it.

We had a great time. Beautiful. We’ll probably go back in a couple of weeks to catch the next phase of the leaves changing!
Y'all should try the Mabry Mill Restaurant on the BRPW just north of the VA-NC border. I ate there a few weeks ago on my trip up to Hershey, PA and it was great!
