7-21-09 Tuesday (Chocolate Onion Rings)

Early on into our trip, Jim and I ditched some stuff we didn’t need at his brother John’s house.  Since we’re passing through Georgia again, it’s time to pick up the crap John and Tonia so graciously stored.  It was 4 banker’s boxes, an RV chair, and the bedroom TV.  Back then we borrowed a bike and rode it only once.  They live in Villa Rica, which was just a little over 2 hours from here (Unadilla).

We packed up a change of clothes (to spend the night), as well as their bike.  We took Dasher and gave Steve a key to watch over the RV while we were gone.  Al loaned us a bike rack which we used to haul John’s bike back and give him the one we already had.

For lunch, we stopped at a Sonic’s figuring we could eat in the car or on the patio without locking Dasher up in a dangerously hot car.  I think Jim and I are through with Sonic.  We’ve had it before and the onion rings tasted like chocolate (and not in a good way).  The burgers are flavorless.  We experienced the same once again.  It’s strange.  OK, so maybe we’re strange.

There’s not much to report: We hung out with Tonia for a while, then the 3 of us met John at Carrabba’s, ate, hung out some more and then went to bed.  After all, John and Tonia are them there workin’ folk.

  2. First of all - I've been to Villa Rica! It was when I was in my early 20's and I went home with an IBM co-worker to celebrate St Patrick's day in Savannah that weekend. The reason I remember this so well is that the Friday night I arrived, we all smoked pot (not my thing), went out for dinner at a Chinese restaurant, I threw up in my purse on the way home, and my friend's husband visited my bedroom that night. OMG! I kicked him out, but I never told her. Needless to say, it wasn't the best weekend of my life, let me tell ya. Hope that your visit was more pleasant.

Second, Carrabba's is awesome! One of our favorite places to eat. Great food, generous portions, and not expensive.

What did you order Garret? Usually you give us that important info.

Looking forward to seeing you next Tuesday. Yay!

  3. Damn Alix, you're always full of funny stories!

You're right I forgot to mention my meal. Pollo Rosa Maria. I always get that. I had the summer special which was a 3 course meal. Appetizer = Grilled Bruschette. Dessert was a tiny shot glass thingy.

All very yummy. Oh and the bread rocks too!
