1-11-09 Sunday (Welcome Miss Gulch)

Around 1:30am, a train whistle blew, and I awoke. The shaking of the RV accompanied by the wheel to track noises didn't amuse me. I was able to fall back asleep instantly. Sometime around 9am, I awoke. As we lay there, a train came with the whistle and shaking of the RV. It was so brief though, as if it only had 1 or 2 cars on it's engine. I mentioned how quick that was compared to the 1:30 experience. Jim didn't know what I was talking about. Maybe during tonights railroad musical, I'll elbow him. Why suffer alone?

Scott Hicks, a fellow blogger, writes often about his bike rides. He has 2 Italian Greyhounds and even has a wheeled pet carrier to tow his IG's with. His rides are definitely more than Jim and I are used to. I am however, happy to report, that Jim and I went for a bike ride. It was a little chilly but it was awesome. We'll be doing that more often.

Jim ordered GoSanFrancisco cards for a 7 day pass. It's the same as the GoSeattle card. Eventually we drove into SF at the Wharf and picked up the cards. We had also purchased a restaurant.com certificate the other day and decided to redeem 1 tonight for dinner. After a treacherous trip further into SF, we found the place to be closed for the evening. Sunday at 7pm? Strange. We then drove to the Castro district and ate dinner at Harveys, a Castro historic location. Jim and I both had the Flat Iron Steak. The meal was absolutely yummy. We then walked around and eventually stopped into a bar (they're all over the place), and had a drink at the Edge. Life isn't complete without stopping into 3 of the trillion sex toy stores around the Castro. No, we didn't buy anything.

Looking for parking was awful. Jim and I were at each others throats. I'm not sure how that's all gonna work out for the next week here.

Here's some bike ride photos:
