2-2-09 Monday (Color TV, A Rare Find)

Today we took a day trip to Lake Tahoe. It was roughly a 2 hour drive each way and a worthwhile trip at that. My Aunt had warned us about the possibility of needing snow chains. I was surprised. I guess I figured, it's California, it doesn't snow there. Jim looked it up prior departure and the weather is fine. Night low teens and day low 60's. I can deal with that. On the way to Tahoe, it was strange seeing all the snow, cross country skiers and ads for ski lifts. Wow, it's like another world.

As we drove around the perimeter of the lake, we'd stop off at different scenic views for some photos. For lunch, we stopped at "Lakeside Pizza" for an all you can eat buffet. Oink, oink.

We drove into Nevada then back into California. We'll be hittin' up Vegas in another month. It was a nice sightseeing day.

I definitely have a cold but it's the most mild cold I've ever had. The sore throat I had yesterday was barely there. The runny nose was this morning, that turned to stuffed up for the evening. That lead to painful ear non-popping through the mountainous passes.

I'm scared of a hotel that advertises "color TV" as a feature.

As soon as we crossed into Nevada, within a block were a few casinos. This one was Jim Kelley's. My Jim Kelly is minus an "e" but nonetheless we thought a photo was fun.
