9-9-09 Wednesday (Shaking It All About)

Good news for the start of my day – my cholesterol levels are coming under control!  Even better news?  I can stay on the inexpensive cholesterol meds.  Is that great?  I was thinking of having a celebration.  I’m registered at Camping World for gifts.  Be sure to look me up.

After my doctor’s visit, Jim and I split up for lunch.  He went off to lunch with his Grandmother and then some shopping while I went to have lunch with Ted, my ex-employee and friend at Suzuki.  While I was there, I met the owner and general manager of the dealership.  I gotta make sure to keep networking.

Some miscellaneous up-date-idge:  Smoking?  Jim and I are both smoke free since January 1st!  Thanks!   Working out?  We only missed Saturday & Sunday otherwise we work out 1-2 times per day!  Diet?  Ummmmm, not too bad but not 100% either.  We’re on a diet maybe 80% of the time?  Any other questions please send $5.00 along with your question.  The $5 offsets administrative costs.  I will donate 2.5% to some charity, somewhere.

We enjoyed a great NY Strip steak tonight.  It came from Publix and was on sale for $6.95 a pound.  What’s funny is that we stopped in there for squash and salsa yesterday.  On the way out of the store I picked up an ad and saw all these BOGO deals.  We went back in and shopped – spending more money the second time.  For now on I’ll be watching the sale ads closely.  We compared prices to Walmart and definitely saved quite a bit.

  1. Publix rocks. Until recently, Adrian was a cashier at Publix. Her first job and she worked there almost 4 years. Now she's a pet assistant at Pet Doctors and loves the switch. We only cheat on Publix when we need to go to the Fresh Market for some "sophisticated" groceries... you know, imported stuff like flavored oils, vinegars, artisan cheeses. What am I saying? I'm not allowed to eat cheese?

Keep up the good work you guys. I'm really proud of your healthy efforts - and see Garret? It's already paying off! Nice going on the cholesterol improvements.

  2. Be careful, guys - my daughter also quit smoking in January and now she's 6 months pregnant. The same thing happened to me 39 years ago.

Cause and effect, I tell ya!

  3. @Mom L: If I'm pregnant then I am so going on the talk show circuit. Oh, and screw the diet and exercise.
