While visiting my Mom yesterday, I borrowed her carpet cleaner and vacuum. She’s got a Dyson which I find very annoying to use. Per Consumer Reports, it’s not all that awesome as the TV commercials may suggest. I have a subscription to Consumer Reports online (consumerreports.org) and here’s a screen shot of some ratings:
Anyway, it’s been a year since the RV has been vacuumed with anything stronger than a Dust Buster. Actually our vacuum, the Electrolux, is like a Dust Buster with a beater-bar on it.
Sometimes we’d use the small shop vac we had on board but the beater-bar on it stopped working a month or 2 into the trip. We could never find a shop vac beater-bar again. Tim of Carl & Tim gave it to us way back when.
Well, you certainly didn’t come all the way here to read about my opinions on vacuums and carpet cleaners. Let’s talk about world peas. Hmmmm, not so much. Then I’ll have to pull out my nothing-to-blog-about card, errrr list. One day during a long 5 hour RV relocation commute, Jim and I began to note creepy hotel names. A month or 2 later and with me holding on to this list, I now present the Creepy Hotel Name List. Sounds fancy, huh? We noted that any hotel/motel with a fancy name tended to be a dump. I’m sure you can play along too. Here’s the names we noticed that looked less than hospitable:
Palace Suites, Elegante, Deluxe, Executive, Luxury Inn, Royal Inn, Ambassador Inn. Hmmmm, I thought I had a longer list. Oh well. Roll with it.
Tonight, Jim and I dined with Renae and Amy. Both read the blog each morning, and are ex-coworkers of mine from the Galloway Family of Dealers. Jim already knew Renae because we had the same gym trainer, Wade. We met for dinner at Joe’s Crabshack.
Above: Hey ladies. Is this seat taken?
Above: Clockwise: Jim, me, Renae, Amy.
Above/Below: Nice view from the table!
Above: Sunset!
Dinner was good. Stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer. Jim had a simple fish & chips dinner. I had crab stuffed shrimp. At times the music was a little too loud especially when they blast some song for the wait staff to dance too. Keep your day jobs, errrrr, server jobs. You know what I mean.
Love that sunset pic!
ReplyDeleteI've not kept anactual list, but I do love seeing odd hotel names. And yes, they are usually scary Bates style dumps.
