This morning I played Martha Stewart... no, I didn't do anything illegal. I premade some breakfast sandwiches. English muffins, egg, cheese and sausage. It was something easy to have on hand, and warm up in the morning. I baked egg beaters in pan and cut up the servings. I toasted 6 english muffins, and then put it all together. Next time I think I'll crumble the sausage and cheese within the egg. That's much easier.
This country is beautiful! How fortunate are we to live here? Maybe not right now with the economy but at least the scenery is a constant. I'm amazed at how much undeveloped land we have here. Today as we drove to Natural Bridges National Park, we passed through some small towns. It's not so odd for us anymore. The last town/city that seemed more like what we were used to was Denver. A lot of land at the Four Corners is Navajo Indian Land. As we drive, I look at the GPS and see tons of empty land that's not Navajo Land. So who owns the property? I suppose I could try searching through tax records but it's not that important to me. More a curiosity of sorts.
Natural Bridges National Park had 3 bridges to view. We took Dasher along and stopped at the many view points. The park had a really nice picnic area, so we stopped to have some lunch. The 3 bridges are named Sipapu, Kachina, and Owachomo. Love the last one's name. I'm humored easily. Aside from the awe factor of the natural bridges, the colorations of and including the formations themselves, are as always, amazing. Reread that last sentence, I'm sure it makes sense.
So, that was our trip today. Now let's talk flatulance. Our dog has a lot of it. While the Prednisone and fish oil pills have stopped him from scratching himself raw, AND have caused him to fatten-up, they've also created gas. It would be humorous if he made noises and would also serve as a warning but it's silent and extremely deadly. Oh, and lets not forget often. It's been better today; I suspect the excercise has helped.
Oh, and here's today's slideshow.
Well Boys, although I know most of Utah is beautiful...I will hold my thoughts because living their is a totally different experience. I think it tends to Jade ones view point. I believe a huge portion of Utah open land is owned by the government now. You would be surprised at how many no fly zones there are...especially in northern Utah where the Airforce base is. Be safe.
ReplyDeleteThe scenery is spectacular. Thank you for all the pictures. As for Dasher Prancer and his flatulence...I thought you told me you had a hyper-sensitive gas alarm in the kitchen? Are you trying to tell us that the alarm prefers dog gas to Febreeze? This requires some thoughtful pondering.
ReplyDeleteLove you all, Pearl
Perhaps the desolation of the undeveloped land around you has something to do with Dasher's gas. You guys can't leave, but the thousands of indians who still live there are probably in hiding as you pass, gasping and saying OH MY GREAT SPIRIT as they wipe tears from their eyes and try not to spew. Perhaps you should tape a muslin bag of activated charcoal to Dasher's butt to filter out the noxious and possibly illegal emissions. Think of it as a Dogalytic Converter. I"m assuming the Cats are okay, so they don't need the upgrade (which would detrimentally affect their mileage anyway).
