8-9-08 Saturday (Mudpies for sale)

There's many a time I've changed the words to a song to make fun of something. So, if you know this song, "Living in America" by James Brown, substitute "Living in a Trailer Park".

Today was a rough start. It was the Bon Voyage / Open RV (House) get together to say goodbye to friends. It's more like see ya later since we'll be back in 6-8 months.

Oh, yeah, the rough start part. Well, you know by now you can expect to read about drama here. It's all around us. OK, so it rained like a hurricane was coming through. The screen room got muddy and messy. Rain blew in countless times before I had time to close the panel flaps. I screamed for Auntie Em but there was no response. I called out for Toto but Dasher stared blankly at me.

Of course living in trailer park has several disadvantages. One of which is not having paths to your front door but rather walk through dirt. Dirt + rain = MUD. I went to Big Lots (We're on a budget ya know) and bought a bamboo mat and an additional door mat. I placed them at the entrance to the screen room. We cleaned up in time.

John Anderson arrives first with a cylindrical paper bag tied with twine. I asked what the hell it was. He replied, "How else do you wrap a gift for someone in a trailer park?" Good point. Thanks for the lovely door mat. Did he buy that in town or take the time and thought to order it for us? Either way I am very scared!

I can't remember the order exactly of everyone else but thanks Glenn and Kevin for the awesome HOMEMADE peanut butter cake. It was yummy. I don't have a picture of it, and I'm not in the mood to snap a picture of the digested version.

Al & Jack put together a care package with some really neat stuff. Some of it just fun and others goofy. Here's an item, you decide:

Ryan Zigo from St. Pete came and stayed the night. It was a great visit, the cats enjoyed having someone to sleep with.

Laurie, Pearl, Nancy, Floyd (Flo), Carl, Tim, Mike, Dave, Abe (He used to do Karaoke at the Bottom Line, you know him) attended as well. Thanks for coming everyone! We'll certainly miss everyone.
